Commission/already completed Art Rules and Policy

For already completed artwork, I retain all rights to the artwork.

For commissions:

I retain all rights unless special agreements are made. This means I have the right to reproduce, and display the work as I see fit. This does not mean I will take a picture I have done of your child and put it on a t-shirt. This means I can post it on my website, personal blog, and any other internet gallery. If you do not wish for me to post your piece, let me know the reason. For less personal pieces, such as a picture of a goddess, I may create items with the image, unless you pay a small fee to buy the rights to the image.

I will draw all subjects other than those that promote hate, discrimination, or children in sexual situations.

I retain the right to refuse any commission which I do not feel comfortable doing. This includes my right to issue a refund if payment has already been made and something occurs that causes me to become uncomfortable, such as the customer being overly rude or disrespectful. I will do everything in my power to make this a pleasant experience for you, please do so for me.

Standard procedure for a commission:

I get the information from you, such as any and all references, General idea for the piece.

I make a rough sketch to see if I have the right idea. I send the sketch to you via email. This step takes about a day once I reach you in the waiting list. (all paid customers go to the front of the list above the freebies)

You approve or disapprove the sketch. If approved I move on to coloring. If disapproved I re-draw. I am not happy till you are.

Coloring may take several days or only one day. This depends on the medium and amount of detail the piece requires. A painter 11 piece has taken up to a week before. I put my all into each piece I do, sometimes this take a little time and effort. My art cards generally take only a couple hours to completely ink and color. A graphite piece really depends on the detail. A portraite may take as long as 3 days to complete.

Once I show you what I believe to be the finished piece, you may request changes on digital pieces as much as you would like. For a real media piece, I can not change much once we get past the sketch stage. If it is an error on my part I will re-do he piece. If it is simply you changed your mind, I am sorry, but I can not help that and will have to charge $1 for each re-do on a real media piece once colored.

Once you approve the piece as finished (you are compleatly happy with it) I will then either send you the high-res (for the digital) version via email, or if povided I can place it on a jump drive and send it to you. For the real media pieces I will ship them in a protective envelope (for art cards I have rigid card protectors) to the adress you provide. I will happily ship outside the US if you provide the postage and instructions as to how best to ship to your country.
